A nurse recommended that I wear a comfortable nursing bra during delivery so that I’m set to breastfeed right after the baby is born. She said it shouldn’t have an underwire in case I have an emergency c-section, and can’t have metal on.
I thought that it might just be more comfortable to have no bra under the hospital gown.
I was a C cup pre-pregnancy. I’m 36 weeks, and a full D now. My boobs are heavy and quite uncomfortable. I’m afraid they’ll EXPLODE when my milk comes in! LOL! I’m already leaking colostrum pretty regularly.
I wore a sports bra during delivery and had a nursing one with me and I’m glad I did. Before delivery the breasts engorge getting ready for birth and the afterward part is so hectic that it could be hours and hours before you actually get one one so it’s better to be prepared in advance. However it’s totally up to you. I just personally didn’t feel comfortable with my breasts all hanging out of the gown in front of everyone (even though all my goodies were there for all to see, lol).
