What kind of bra is the best to wear with a costume bodice?

Its part of a costume. The bodice comes to the underbust. The shirt that I’ll be wearing under is meant to be off the shoulders and comes up to about my armpits. The bodice DOES have shoulder straps.

I think that in an authentic renaissance costume, there would be a “binder”- a piece of fabric to wear tightly over your breasts and push them up. These actually do not work very well. That is most likely why brassieres with cups were invented some time later.

Wear a strapless bra, white of the color tone of your skin.

It must be the correct cup size for you or you will have it either slipping off or breasts popping out.
